The Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason (BRI) is a center of scientific excellence in research and therapy of autoimmune diseases, such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis and arthritis, and promotes clinical and interdisciplinary research, particularly in cancer, neuroscience, and heart disease. Responsibilities and Qualifications: The Research Assistant (RA) supports the Clinical Research Coordinators, research staff and Investigators to assist with over 120 open studies. The work largely focuses on attending to administrative details (approximately 50-70% of the time) with regard to clinical research. This includes but is not limited to the following: retrieve and distribute mail, maintain office supplies, answer department phones and direct calls appropriately, frequent trips between the clinic, CRP lab and our office, and completion of IRB paperwork in conjunction with the Study Coordinators, e.g., continuing reviews, informed consent revisions, and amendments. In addition, this position is responsible for sample processing, shipping and handling, regulatory binder maintenance, collecting financial disclosure statements for Key Personnel, test article transportation, data capture, document archival support, administer tests and scales to research subjects and general study support.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
Requires a high school diploma, strong computer, written, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to perform from both oral and written instructions, manage multiple tasks with changing work-loads and priorities. The individual must work well within a team.
